
Did you know that their is a "Rhode Island" clam chowder? I am a Rhode Islanders and I had no idea! ( of course I don't eat chowder so my knowledge on the subject is limited. )Well here are the chowder break downs for those epicureans among us:
New England Clam Chowder: milk or cream based with potatoes, onion & bacon.
Manhattan Clam Chowder: clear broth with tomatoes for color & flavor.
Rhode Island Clam Chowder: clear with a thin tomato broth but no tomato chunks.
